Today I am thankful for so much, but these 3 are at the top of the list.

Six

My oldest daughter is turning 6 in just 16 short days. With all that has been happening in our family I hadn't really thought of that, until today. 6 years! How on earth have 6 years gone by since my first child was born? It cannot have been that long ago. She cannot be that old.

But she is, and when I think of her birthday all I can think of is my hopes and wishes for her as she continues on in life. To her I want to say...

...may you always stand strong,



...may you never lose the light in your eyes,



...or the smile in your heart,



...may you never run from life's adventures, but embrace them,



...may you always remember to look forward to the future and the goals you're striving to achieve,



...and when you do look back, may what you see always make you smile.



Happy {early} Birthday to the one who first made me a mother. You mean more to me than you will ever know.

A Trade Off

Wednesday afternoon I made a trade with my daughter. If she would give me 15 minutes I would give her a Starburst. She thinks she got the better end of the deal. Although I do love Starbursts, I have to politely disagree with her.

A Quick One

Now that I am mostly unpacked and settled in my new home I've got some sessions and a wedding to complete, so tonight I am getting down to the business of getting through these. This image really stood out to me, and I had to share it. Something about it just grabs me.

Moved

We made it. We are now in Florida, and I have the palm trees in my yard to prove it. You might notice that I made our move "official" by changing the areas I service (above) from Tulsa and Oklahoma City to Orlando, Florida and surrounding areas. If you know anyone in those areas let them know, I am ready to start putting my camera to good use here.

Until then you will see plenty pictures of my own kids as we explore our new surroundings and look for good picture spots. Today we didn't leave our front yard. Before moving I found a tropical shirt for my little boy in a hand-me-down bag. Its covered in palm trees and hibiscus - so cliche, so touristy - but I don't care, I couldn't resist.



See the chair behind him? My original thought was to have him sit in it next to the small palm tree...but I forgot, he doesn't sit still - for anyone, especially not for Mommy.



Told you there were palm trees in my front yard.



I liked this picture because of the light - we do live in the sunshine state now after all. I am excited to start exploring to find just what this state has to offer. I have big plans for my daughter's upcoming 6th birthday pictures. They include the beach....I can't wait!

Curly Girl

This little cutie has the cutest curls! I cannot get enough of them. Her session was very typical for a 2 year old birthday session - it could be best described as a chase. I LOVE 2 year olds!

I'm in the midst of packing...the truck will be loaded tomorrow and we pull out in just 3 days, but I promised this cutie's Mommy a preview before we pulled out. So here it is!

Oh, and one tidbit about this session, there were several pictures that I took that I knew the moment I took them that they would be favorites. All of these fall into that category.





...told you the curls were amazing.

Little Curly - wherever your paths may lead, I hope you always keep laughing, discovering and never stop for anyone. Happy birthday sweet girl!

What a Keeper!

As promised, here are a few more pictures from Saturday's wedding. I've only scratched the surface and haven't even gotten into the ceremony and reception pictures yet, so I'm positive there will be more to see from this event, but that may have to wait until we're in Florida. For now enjoy the 2nd sneak peak.

This picture (above) was the first on I took that day, and I love it. I loved the back of her dress, and I really love long trains.

Isn't she gorgeous?!

I love this picture of the groom. He's talking to the bride while I was trying to take pictures of his. I love that he was all serious for his poses with me but the minute she said something he turned and smiled.

In fishing a good fish that you want to take home is referred to as a "keeper." In life I think this couple each found themselves a "keeper." :)

Nothin' But Blue Skies

I was fortunate to get to do one more wedding before leaving Oklahoma. I am in the midst of packing, but I promised the bride a sneak peak during my chaos...so here is the first one (I think there will be at least one more before I go).

Their engagement pictures were rainy, but there was no rain in sight on the day of their wedding. The entire drive to their location I kept thinking what a beautiful day it was.

Then I saw images like this...



and this...



...all I could think of was the song that goes, "Blue skies, smiling at me. Nothing but blue skies, do I see." I'm sure it was on the radio at some point in time (I could look it up I guess), but I remember it from an airlines commercial. Whatever it is from, the skies were beautiful on the afternoon of this couple's wedding - and it is my wish for them, that there be nothing but blue skies in their future together.

Moving?!

This is my family. We are moving. ( As you can see from the picture, we're shocked!)So, that means Treasure Photography is moving too.

Where?

You may have seen it on my facebook fan page, but if not, the picture gives you a clue. Where do Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald live?

Orlando, Florida!

I'm still in OKC for a few more weeks, but I've booked my final sessions here and am busy packing up. For those of you in Oklahoma that I've been fortunate enough to meet and photograph - thank you. For those of you who have lurked and thought you might call I do have a photographer friend who I can refer you to (See photo credit for details).

Reflection

Sometimes the simplest unplanned moments make my favorite pictures. And sometimes the simplest aspect of the picture change the entire way you look at a picture. The reflection in the first 3 pictures do just that for me. They make me see how he is discovering himself and the world around him. Its a precious moment and a memory I will treasure forever.

Birthday Girl

I met up with a fun little birthday girl and her sweet Mommy at the park the other day. The birthday girl had no time for my camera, there was too much to explore. That is no problem for me, I love a good chase.

This little one was so much fun to watch and chase. She was so brave! I can't tell you how many times she fell and never once did she shed a tear. She would just pop back up and go bouncing on to the next thing.

This weekend is her birthday and I hope she has a great one because someone this cute and sweet deserves nothing less.

A Rainy Engagement

Saturday I met up with this couple, in the rain. Weather forecasts had been calling for rain all week and it had never come. Of course, it decided to fall on the day of our shoot. But, we did not cancel. As I was driving over I kept wondering if they would even be there. A quick check of the radar showed showers still hit and miss in our area so I was crossing my fingers that our location would be dry.

While it wasn't exactly dry, it was only falling lightly, and they were there! This couple was up for it. I love how she didn't wince at the drizzle and didn't worry what it might do to her hair (I totally would have). In the end we did end up opening umbrellas because the rain had picked up, but luckily we had already finished.

I can't wait to see these two in a month at their wedding. Lets hope the rain stays away for their outdoor ceremony!

Little Beauty

Remember this little beauty?



I am finally getting around to her preview. Mom, Dad and Mimi have been patiently waiting.

This little lady will soon be having her 2nd birthday. She is as sweet as they come. We met up at a small little park and had fun walking through the grass, dancing, climbing trees (she has no fear, and great balance), and trying to get the view through my lens to mirror the view in her world.
